Historic Downtown Home # 28. Our customer purchased this home only to find out the former owner had dug out the crawlspace to create a full height basement without ever shoring up the foundation. DO Your DUE Diligence!

Now this is a project!! Our clients house in the St. John’s downtown area , purchased relatively recently , with serious structural issues. 2-3 FEET of crushed stone was brought in and buried the serious foundation issues. It requires a complete structural repair and waterproofing of foundation wall base, three new interior concrete footings with walls to support a new floor joist system that is required PLUS a concrete retaining wall to prevent the front foundation wall from undermining and collapsing into the home. Folks make sure you do your due diligence when buying an older home in NL, If it does not look right or feel right get a second opinion. All that aside, once we are done it will be stamped and signed off by the structural engineer who designed the repair and at half the cost of her other 2 quotes. Follow us on facebook for updates!

Call Before You Dig!

This is what we do! An older home in downtown St. John’s that has had water and moisture issues forever. The homeowner has had three contractors in to waterproof , inject and repair this foundation but nothing has worked. The only alternative was to dig up the entire foundation and waterproof from the outside. Then an engineer recommended us! We waterproofed and repaired the entire foundation from the inside with our negative side system. She was able to complete her home reno, signed off on by an engineer and has the peace of mind knowing that it all comes with our warranty.
